The Board of Directors of the Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF) announces that, following an open selection process, it has decided to appoint Mr. Theodoros Loukaidis as the Director General of RIF for the next five years.

Mr. Loukaidis holds an Executive MBA from Warwick Business School, a Master’s degree in Communications and Signal Processing from Imperial College London, and a BEng (First Class, Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from UMIST, UK.

He has extensive experience in business management at both national and international levels. Over the past five years, he has served as the Director General of RIF, making a decisive contribution to the rapid growth of the ecosystem and the enhancement of its performance in European and international rankings.

The Board of Directors expresses full confidence in Mr. Loukaidis’ abilities to continue the dynamic course of RIF towards strengthening research, innovation, and technological development in Cyprus.

Speaking on behalf of the Board, Chairman Mr. Dimitris Skourides stated, “We are confident that under his leadership as Director General and in collaboration with the Board, RIF will continue to evolve, strengthen its partnerships, and implement the National R\&I Strategy, contributing significantly to the development of a globally competitive, unified, strong, and well-connected R\&I ecosystem, which will establish itself as an R\&I hub in the region.”
