CITEA continues to dynamically pursue its strategy of strengthening the international outreach of its members, with the new Board of Directors clearly prioritizing the creation of real opportunities for growth in international markets. In this context, CITEA President Giorgos Malekkos, Vice President Antonia Michael, and Director General Matina Zisiadou welcomed representatives of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Cyprus.
During the meeting, discussions focused on prospects for strengthening exports of Cypriot technology companies, as well as ways to facilitate their access to the Chinese market.
Particular reference was made to the China International Import Expo, an exhibition exclusively focused on imports into China, which was considered especially interesting as a platform for the expansion of Cypriot companies.
CITEA believes in the potential of Cypriot businesses to expand beyond borders and actively invests in strategic partnerships that can create meaningful opportunities for its members.
This initiative is part of a broader effort to:
strengthen members’ international presence
create new commercial bridges
leverage markets with high growth potential
CITEA President Giorgos Malekkos stated:
“Until now, we mainly knew China as an exporting country. In reality, however, it is a vast market that values professionalism and innovation. This opens up significant prospects for Cypriot technology companies, which can compete effectively and offer specialized solutions.
Our goal is not simply participation in exhibitions or introductory-level contacts, but the creation of meaningful partnerships that will lead to tangible results for our members. We believe there is space for Cypriot expertise, and we want to claim it in an organized and strategic way.
If we move correctly, China can evolve from a ‘distant market’ into a strategic opportunity for our sector.”
CITEA will continue with targeted actions and international engagements, aiming to turn such initiatives into real business collaborations for its members.
